One night I had a dream
! _$ ^) f9 a7 l* m1 ?/ T# mI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
& ^0 r4 T% Q7 w% d5 QAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
" n- e- {& g) L9 b# ?' r6 ^For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
( l4 \# @( t5 K% W. Y$ {one belonging to me: p; ~1 S( g8 e/ R
and the other to my Lord.
( O+ {/ ^& R" `. d+ eWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
5 ]. U, H8 H1 rI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
  G& U" v' g7 ?6 Y% h" }+ d; `8 i7 SThere was only on set of footprints.
* E" F+ h0 S, j& z, t/ m. |I realized that this was at the lowest
/ e6 L3 w: v. Z, Zand saddest times in my life.9 c1 [& n  U- W% K1 l+ a/ D- m
This always bothered me
/ N; U! B& T; X3 ?% {* eand I questioned the Lord
0 C: `5 q7 m1 L, F) T4 Q) }about my dilemma.4 I# f" b3 ]6 S* `
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,1 h) L: L6 M9 g6 a
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
: q( P' u3 o2 rBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
/ c/ V) A* n* j8 v8 w! Ktimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
0 m$ z* ^/ i, E* C. z; eI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
) Z6 y4 T" A* {( A: g& E' @$ I7 myou leave me."
% ]  k4 @! ~1 J) h( s& N( a! ]0 l5 KHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,, m, W; m* I* B: H# q3 P0 i0 u
I love you and will never leave you* J: X7 s# i2 ^6 i
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.
& q& V2 Z! u+ @, W" g, P) {( f% RWhen you saw only one set of footprints, N  x" O! \& a! }" P/ R0 s6 P& `
It was then that I carried you."' B. i' n& q7 L9 g7 n2 C, m( H
