Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream
" Q" ]5 c$ F5 bI was walking along the beach with my Lord.1 K  f8 C, ?5 N9 S: e4 d
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.6 V$ @8 X0 w* l1 {$ k5 K
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
! l9 l! V, R- k- w: P3 V5 Bone belonging to me6 f0 A. r7 g2 j& G/ D4 p1 G+ [
and the other to my Lord.' H. h# l! X8 q' u, a
When the last scene of my life shot before me
3 Q! q, x# V0 `8 e) ^- T1 c! ?9 tI looked back at the footprints in the sand.( e. y3 ~* E. B! B2 S( o
There was only on set of footprints.4 m+ W+ b! I3 g; w
I realized that this was at the lowest
0 b8 G0 r) h% @' b- Vand saddest times in my life.
# S4 j" H0 ]5 M2 kThis always bothered me . n: r+ E  l2 w  J9 \/ f6 X
and I questioned the Lord1 \# V8 R2 T6 u$ e! H
about my dilemma.
. u$ R) O$ ~8 j2 f* ]/ d"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,! b: ~2 P- q$ H# I
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
. p, V) v5 O' j& Y. Q; U) `% aBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
" r; W" j! c0 B& ~# ktimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
; {4 b* i6 X, ]9 \I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
% t4 l) I4 p* J' ^you leave me."
/ u, e3 ]) L- ]/ k, l- I- k$ Z# p2 DHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,! @5 ?! m3 u2 s6 n: c8 R; P3 ~( ]
I love you and will never leave you
